Black Eagle Lodge Honors Arrowman with the Arrow Founder’s Award

This week at Camp Avantura, one of Black Eagle Lodge’s own received one of the Order of the Arrow’s highest honors. Desert Eagle Chapter Chief Liam was presented the Order of the Arrow Founder’s Award by Black Eagle Lodge Vice Chief Robert in recognition of his dedication to the lodge and his commitment to living the principles of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, and Service.

The presentation was especially meaningful as Liam was serving on the camp’s staff, where he spends this week helping provide a fun and safe program for Scouts from across the council and beyond.

Since becoming an Arrowman in 2023 and earning Brotherhood membership in 2024, Liam has become an active participant in Black Eagle Lodge. In addition to serving as Desert Eagle Chapter Vice Chief, he is active in Troop 257B, Venturing Crew 3257.

Liam has supported the lodge by serving as both an Elangomat and Nimat, helping guide candidates through their induction experience. He has also participated on Ordeal and Brotherhood ceremony teams, contributing to some of the lodge’s most meaningful traditions.

Established at the 1981 National Order of the Arrow Conference, the Founder’s Award honors Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge while exemplifying the vision of Order of the Arrow founder E. Urner Goodman and co-founder Carroll A. Edson. Because each lodge may present only a limited number of awards each year, it is one of the Order of the Arrow’s most distinguished recognitions.

The Transatlantic Council and Black Eagle Lodge congratulate Liam on this recognition and thank him for his continued service to Scouting. We look forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in the years ahead.
