Scouts Step Back in Time at Mayflower District Fall Camporee

The Mayflower District Fall Camporee, themed around Britain during the Roaring Twenties and Vigilant Thirties (1918–1939), brought together 69 Scouts, 12 Arrow of Light Scouts, and 37 adult leaders from four Scouting America units and one British Scout Group for a weekend of adventure, learning, and fellowship. Throughout the weekend, Scouts explored the spirit of the post–Great War era through activities focused on navigation, pioneering, first aid, marksmanship, physical fitness, creativity, and teamwork, reflecting the skills, innovation, and resilience that characterized Britain between the two World Wars. The Camporee also ran alongside the Order of the Arrow Ordeal Weekend, where one Scout successfully completed their Ordeal and joined the Order of the Arrow. Adult leaders took part in valuable training opportunities as well, with three leaders completing Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) and two leaders completing Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) certification. The weekend celebrated the values of service, perseverance, and community that helped Britain rebuild after the Great War while providing today’s Scouts and leaders with memorable experiences, practical skills, and lifelong friendships.
