
The Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is widely recognised as the world’s leading youth achievement award.
The Transatlantic Council (TAC) is proud to be an International Partner of the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) program (International Award) and we are able to provide this prestigious award through registered (Sub licensed) Units in our Council .
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an internationally recognized youth program founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and it recognize adolescents and young adults for completing a series of self-improvement exercises.
The Award helps young people build a life-long belief in themselves, supporting them to take on their own challenges, follow their passions, and discover talents they never knew they had.
- Skills -Develop transferable skills
- Physical recreation- Get active
- Voluntary service- Give back to the communities
- Adventurous journey- Experience adventure and learn to lead.
- Residential* – Gold Only
Bronze Level – For those over 14 years old. (Six months minimum needed to complete this award)
Silver Level – For those over 15 years old. (12 months minimum needed to complete this award)
Gold Level – For those over 16 years old. (18 months minimum needed to complete this award)
For your Unit to offer the Award you will need a number of trained leaders and to register as a new Leader send an email to Suzanne Blakeman and follow this video link to complete the online level 1 module FOC).
The next level (Level 2) of training is offered twice a year led by fully trained TAC Trainers. Sue can provide dates for these courses (3 x 3hr sessions) Send an email to Suzanne Blakeman to get the dates and register for the in house level 2 provided by our team free of charge.
We also have limited space each year for Adult Leaders to attend Trainers training to allow us to staff future TAC courses
