“Where does God and religion come into Scouting?” Lord Baden-Powell was asked. 

He replied, “It does not come in at all. It is already there. It is a fundamental factor underlying Scouting and Guiding” and that “it is all important that this should be fully understood [by leaders] so that they can explain it to our Scouters and Guiders as well as to outsiders who may want to know about it.”

We support the Transatlantic Council’s opportunities for Scouts, their units, and their families: to expand their faith; to encounter and learn about others’ faiths, beliefs, and cultures; to engage in interreligious dialogue; and to work for peace.

Every Scout, whether belonging to an organized religion or not, can live out the first promise of the Scout Oath and the final point of the Scout Law.
