Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader
75th Anniversary Unit Training Ribbons
Units will be recognized during TAC’s 75th Anniversary for achieving leader training level benchmarks:
Purple—90-100% position specific training and 100% Safeguarding Youth Training
Green—80-89% position specific training and 100% Safeguarding Youth Training
Red—70-79% position specific training and 100% Safeguard Youth Training
Why do we need training? Training affords us the opportunity to grow, to keep current, improve retention and grow the program. There are many, many training opportunities that help us grow, keep current, retain members, and grow the program.
For adult volunteers in BSA there is an easy accessible online training program through the Scouting America Learn Center.
Starting with the new mandatory Safeguarding Youth Training is an absolute must for every involved parent (and Professional) to be able to support Scouting America with delivering Scouting America’s programs to our youth. This course is available at through your my.scouting.org account.

In addition to the trainings listed on the side menu, we offer other trainings in the districts throughout the year like Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) for Cub Scout leaders and Introduction to Outdoor Leaders Skills (IOLS) for leaders in Scouts BSA troops .
