Military Family Fee Waiver Now Available for Scouting America Families
Scouting America is proud to announce a new Military Family Fee Waiver program designed to make Scouting more accessible for military-connected youth. Beginning June 1, 2026, eligible youth from Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard families may have the $85 National Youth Registration Fee waived through a simple verification process during online registration.
This initiative, funded through national donations, reflects Scouting America’s continued commitment to supporting military families and ensuring more young people have access to the leadership development, outdoor adventure, and character-building experiences that Scouting provides.
Who Qualifies?
The Military Family Fee Waiver is available to youth whose parent or guardian is currently serving in:
- Active Duty military service
- Military Reserve components
- National Guard
The waiver applies to both new youth registrations and renewing youth memberships completed online. Download the Flyer.
What Does the Waiver Cover?
The program waives the $85 National Youth Registration Fee after verification and application of the provided discount code during the online registration process. It is important to note that this waiver only applies to the national registration fee.
What Is Not Covered?
The Military Family Fee Waiver does not cover the Council Fee of $55, unit dues, optional subscriptions, activity fees, or other local charges that may apply.
How Does a Family Use the Military Fee Waiver?
The waiver is applied during online registration through a discount code provided through the National:
- Begin the youth registration process as normal.
- Select “Get Military Discount Code.”
- Complete the verification process.
- Receive your discount code.
- Apply the code during checkout.
- The $85 national registration fee will be reduced to $0.
The national fee may still appear during the registration process until the verification code is entered. Download the Military Family Fee Waiver Step-by-Step Online Registration Guide HERE.
