Kris Garst Selected as Camp Director for Camp Alpine 2026

Kris Garst is rejoining the Camp Alpine staff in 2026 as the new Camp Director. Her family has been active in the Transatlantic Council for over 15 years, first in Grafenwoehr, Germany, and now in Wiesbaden, Germany.

She joined the staffs of both Camp Alpine and Camp Avantura in 2023, serving as Camp Admin, Area Director, and Program Director over the past three years, helping deliver exceptional camp experiences for Scouts and leaders. Beyond summer camp, she has served as adult leadership for the 2024 NOAC delegation, program staff for the 2024 Klondike Derby, volunteer cook for several Order of the Arrow events, and has supported numerous Scouting activities across the Council.

Although she didn’t grow up in Scouting, Kris developed her passion for youth programs as a Pioneer Girl, spending 10 years attending and later working at a summer camp in upstate New York. This experience has shaped her commitment to creating meaningful, lasting camp memories.

Professionally, Kris brings more than 20 years of experience in management, marketing, event coordination, sales, and community relations with organizations including Borders Books & Music, Build-A-Bear Workshop, and Barnes & Noble Booksellers. She has also volunteered extensively with the National Parent Teacher Association at the local, European, and national levels.

We are excited to have Kris on board as Camp Director and look forward to the energy, experience, and vision she will bring to Camp Alpine 2026.
