Transatlantic Council Summer Recruitment Campaign
Campaign Window: June 1 – September 15 (15 Weeks)
Every Scout’s journey begins with an invitation. This summer, the Transatlantic Council is challenging every unit to help grow Scouting by reaching new families, sharing the Scouting experience, and welcoming new youth and adult members. Through the “Every Scout Starts With an Invitation” recruitment campaign, units can earn recognition for their efforts while helping strengthen Scouting across our communities.
Earn a Recruitment Campaign Ribbon
Units that earn 50 points between June 1 and September 15 will receive a Recruitment Campaign Ribbon for their unit flag.

*To qualify, adult leaders must complete Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) and Position-Specific Training by September 15. Scouter Reserve positions do not qualify.
What Is a Community Recruiting Event?
Community recruiting events are activities hosted by organizations other than a Scouting unit. Examples include school open houses, USO back-to-school events, neighborhood celebrations, military installation events, and other community-sponsored gatherings. These events provide valuable opportunities to introduce Scouting to new families and invite them to learn more about your program.
Recruit for the Whole Scouting Family
Are you hosting an event or attending a community gathering? Remember that we aren’t just recruiting for a single unit. We are welcoming families to the entire Transatlantic Council! Scouting is a continuous adventure. By sharing details for all local age groups, we ensure that every brother, sister, and friend at your table finds the perfect unit to call home.
Whenever you interface with the public, always have information on hand about other local units in your area, including when they meet and who to contact. Let’s work together to ensure no family leaves without a pathway into Scouting, regardless of their child’s age or grade.
Report Your Activties to Record Your Points
Throughout the campaign, units should use the reporting form to submit recruiting activities, social media outreach, and new youth and adult members added to their roster. Units may submit reports at any time during the campaign and do not need to wait until September 15.
When completing the form, please provide complete and accurate information. Multiple activities and new members may be included in a single submission. Supporting documentation such as event photos, screenshots of social media posts, and trained leader reports may also be uploaded.
Share Your Recruitment Plans
If your unit is planning to attend a community event or host a recruiting event this summer, we encourage you to let us know. By sharing your plans with the council, we can help promote your event through our social media channels and showcase the great work your unit is doing to grow Scouting.
