Tax-Deductible Scouting America Donations in Germany

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership that makes supporting the Transatlantic Council (TAC) easier than ever for our supporters living in Germany!

TAC has officially become an approved beneficiary of the Maecenata Foundation. This means you can now make contributions – whether to Friends of Scouting (FOS), Flags Over Normandy, Project Support, or the 1950 Society – and claim them as tax-deductible donations within Germany.

Key Details to Keep in Mind

Transaction Fee: The Maecenata Foundation retains 5% of all donations to cover administrative costs, program development, and charitable research. Please consider adding a small boost to your total if you would like to maximize your target gift.
Currency: Contributions are accepted in Euros (€) via bank transfer. (Note: For gifts of $10,000 USD or more, USD transfer details can be provided upon request.)
Quarterly Forwarding: Maecenata automatically batches and transfers accumulated donations to TAC on a quarterly basis (e.g., January–March donations arrive in April).

Important Donation Guidelines & Tax Receipts

Donations Under €10,000: Send directly via standard bank transfer using the details above.
Donations of €10,000 or More: Please email tg@maecenata.eu before initiating the transfer. These larger gifts are processed within 1–2 weeks.
Tax Receipts Under €300: You can download Maecenata’s standardized donation receipt directly from their website, which is valid alongside your bank statement for the German tax office.
Tax Receipts €300 and Above: Maecenata will automatically send you a personalized donation receipt the following month (or early the following year for monthly recurring gifts), provided your full address and email were included in the transfer reference. Receipts cover the full donation amount.
