Charlemagne District Spring Camporee
A Challenging Start
From the moment Scouts arrived at Camping De La Vallée, Belgium, the weather made its presence known. Snow, sleet, and steady rain turned the grounds cold and wet. Conditions were far from ideal, but no one backed down.
Learning the Art of Fishing
Along the banks of the Ourthe River, Scouts were introduced to fishing techniques. Leaders guided them through the basics—casting, patience, and proper handling. While not every line brought in a catch, every Scout gained hands-on experience.
Resilience in the Elements
Cold fingers and soaked uniforms tested morale, but the Scouts pushed through. They worked together, encouraged one another, and stayed focused on the task at hand, proving that discomfort is no excuse to quit.
Lessons That Last
By the end of the weekend, the Scouts left stronger than they arrived. They carried home not just new skills, but a clear understanding of perseverance, teamwork, and the value of enduring tough conditions.
