Scouting Spirit Shines in Stuttgart
Eagle Scouts, Regattas, and Community Celebrations Highlight Visit from Scout Executive
The past week was an exciting one for Scouting in Stuttgart, Germany, as Transatlantic Council Scout Executive/CEO Joshua Dick visited several units, joining in celebrations, meetings, and activities that showcased the spirit of Scouting in action.
Eagle Scout Court of Honor
This past weekend, Eagle Scouts Nathan and Nick were formally recognized at their Eagle Scout Court of Honor, a ceremony celebrating their incredible achievements in Scouting. In attendance was Joshua Dick, a fellow Transatlantic Council Eagle Scout, who offered his personal congratulations and words of encouragement.
Both Scouts completed their Eagle Scout Boards of Review this past summer at Camp Alpine at Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland. True to the spirit of Scouting, they supported each other’s Eagle Scout service projects. Nick led an interior renovation of a community building that hosts meetings for various local organizations, while Nathan restored the Korean War Memorial on Patch Barracks at U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, preserving the memory of those who served. Their accomplishments are a source of pride for their friends and families, Troop, and the Transatlantic Council.
Pack 113 Raingutter Regatta
Pack 113 kicked off the 2025–2026 Scouting Year in style at their annual “Back to Pack” event. The Cub Scouts raced their handmade boats in the Raingutter Regatta, showing off creativity, teamwork, and plenty of Scout spirit. Everyone gave it their all and had a splash of fun! Joshua Dick and his wife Krista cheered on the Scouts as they celebrated the start of another exciting year.
Pack 113, based at Robinson Barracks (U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart), is home to 40 active Cub Scouts and 14 dedicated adult volunteers, all ready for another year of adventure, learning, and leadership.
Troop 154 Weekly Meeting
Troop 154, based at Kelley Barracks, focused on building essential first aid skills, including assembling their personal first aid kits. These hands-on lessons help prepare Scouts to respond with confidence in real-life situations. The troop was honored by a visit from Scout Executive Joshua Dick and welcomed a youth interested in joining, a sign of Scouting’s continued growth in the community.
Troop 324 Fall Court of Honor
Troop 324 held their Fall Court of Honor celebrating their 60 year anniversary. They welcomed Colonel Judd Sanford, Commander of U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, as guest speaker, alongside Scout Executive/CEO Joshua Dick and his wife Krista. During the ceremony, Scouts were recognized for their outstanding achievements. In total, they earned 102 merit badges and achieved 21 rank advancements, along with multiple special awards for leadership, outdoor skills, and service. Each accomplishment reflected the Scouts’ commitment to growth, leadership, and service, living out the values of Scouting every day.
Crew 44 Leadership
Rounding out the week, Joshua Dick met with the leaders of Crew 44, strengthening support for Venturing in the Stuttgart community and celebrating the exciting opportunities ahead for older youth in Scouting.
From racing boats to climbing mountains, earning badges to preserving memorials, the Scouts of Stuttgart are thriving – and this week’s visit underscored how Scouting continues to build character, leadership, and community across the Transatlantic Council.
USAG Stuttgart is home to Scouting units welcoming youth ages 5-20. From Cub Scouts for elementary-aged youth, to Scouts BSA Troops for middle and high schoolers, and even Venturing and Sea Scouts for older teens. Scouting offers exciting opportunities for everyone – all year round!
